The Money Blues

Do you ever get depressed thinking about your finances and the state they are in? Well, I guess those of you who have made better choices or have already dug yourselves out of the black hole of debt might not...but I do.

As 2007 draws to a close and I start thinking about the New Year's resolutions I made last January that were never realized I sometimes start to fall into a bit of a depression. Today is one of those days. Today it seems that for every good choice we've made this year we have made two bad ones, and no matter how much debt we pay off there is always more left dragging us down. Will we ever reach our goals? Will we ever be debt free (at least the bad debt)?

I am going to make a New Year's resolution list soon just like I always do, I just hope at the end of 2008 I don't have this same depressed feeling because too many of my goals were unmet. Good luck to all of you in making your 2008 New Year's resolutions happen, whatever they may be!

Tracy,
What money goals were met?
What ones were close?

Think about those things and how you are different now than where you were 365 days ago.

Sure we don't always meet our goals, sometimes they are out of reality, sometimes other parts of life slow us down towards those goals, it could a number of things. What you want to keep in mind is that you are going FORWARD and not backward.
You are more aware and wiser now than last year. This is a Good thing!!

And 2008 is a new dawn of a new you!

There are three goals that we met in 2007:

#1 Paid off $10,000 in debt
#2 Started participating in the 401(k) program through my husband's employer
#3 Opened an online savings account with a higher interest rate

The one that I was pretty close on was:

#1 Make $2,500 in revenue from my photography business

Thanks for the encouragement, I will try to think on these things!
