We got back yesterday evening from our camping trip in the mountains north of here, and it felt good to be home.
Campground fees ended up being $120 for our family, instead of $75 like we were told earlier, so we are going to have to sit down and rearrange some things in the budget tonight to account for the difference. We had to fill up the car twice, which cost around $150, and we spent $18.89 at the grocery store on bottled water, juice boxes, marshmallows (to roast at the campfire), ice and a small Styrofoam ice chest to keep the drinks cold. We also had to eat out once on the way up and once on the way back, but we were really careful and only spent $10.22 and $7.75 on those meals. The total for the weekend was just over $300, which is a lot of money but our daughter had the best time (she didn't want to come home) and we got to spend the weekend with family and friends. I think it was worth it!
