Yesterday was the big yard sale, the one I have been getting ready for for weeks. I got up super early (4:50 am) to get over to my sister-in-laws and get set up. It was nice early in the morning but the high temp for the day was 105, and it was hot! Nine hours later we were completely exhausted as we packed up the left-overs.
After the ad I put in the paper for $8.50 I made a grand total of $190! I was satisfied with this, and I actually got invited to put my left-overs in another yard sale in a few weeks so maybe I will end up making a little more. We will be paying all of this towards our debt snowball after I go to the bank on Monday.
An added bonus: I told my four year old daughter that she could keep the money she made selling old toys at the garage sale, and buy something new with it. She made $23, and we got rid of a lot of old toys! We took her to Toys R Us today and she bought a Cinderella princess dress and a Barbie DVD.

Yay! A great lesson for your daughter. Isn't it a blessing to eliminate debt AND unwanted clutter at the same time?!
$190 is good :)
I know! I am afraid we might be moving again soon, and now we have a little less stuff to move. :)
I am so doing this when we get to Charlottesville - I can't believe how long I've held on to all the cute baby clothes - why didn't we do this BEFORE moving them all the way across the country! (DOH!)
Ha ha...I don't know when you would've had time with your trip around the world and everything!
