My son's daily smoothie:
About 4 or 5 strawberries
1/3 cup of frozen blueberries (I froze them)
1/3 cup of organic whole milk yogurt
1/3 cup of apple juice (orange juice is equally delicious)
I had a go of it and put fresh blueberries in place of the strawberries. It was a success, very tasty, and he couldn't tell the difference. For dinner I swapped turkey bacon for tuna fish in our staple: spaghetti noodle, dab of butter, parmesan cheese, peas and tuna pasta dinner. It was an incredibly scrumptious swap and I did not spend any money today.

NO SPEND day 42: complete
And feeling good about improvising.

You rock!
ReplyDeleteAnd your kid is precious and I just want to pinch his cheeks. lol
Thank-you : )
DeleteHe is SUCH a blessing! I only kiss those little cheeks about 300 times a day
He's adorable - love the chubby arms! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy fruit/smoothie tip (we drink *a ton* of smoothies at our house). Whenever I cut too much fruit for a meal, or we have leftovers, or a fruit is too ripe for serving, I have a permanent bag of fruit in the freezer. I just add whatever we have. Whenever we're ready for smoothies, I dump out the frozen fruit bag & we're ready to go. The taste always varies, but it's delicious each time.
Another no spend day - so awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I know the improvisation feeling, it's great :)
That photo is worth more than all the clean cups in the world. I know you are enjoying being a mom to this precious tyke. Brings back many fond memories of when DS was small.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Best Bun
I've been making a blueberry, raspberry, banana, yogurt and orange juice smoothie this week and they have been fabulous. I usually just do strawberry and banana.
