Watering the lawn while my child has the time of his life. That's multitasking (and free fun).
Little Abe: "I didn't like this last year. But it's so much fun now that I'm six years old! Yay!!!"
<he goes running back towards the sprinkler>Me: "Honey, you're only four years old."
Little Abe <stops>: "Haha, oh yeah." <runs back towards the sprinkler>
He really thinks he's much older than he is and he did not like running through the sprinkler last year.
My boys are 3 and 4 and hated it last year too. This year I can't get them out of it. They started asking me to turn on the water before we ever got out of the car after I picked them up yesterday. I love to sit and watch them run around laughing and giggling in the water being little boys.
ReplyDeleteIt's JUST warmed up here and already for the past two days in a row he's been in the water. This was the first time he's enjoyed running through the sprinkler so it was a lot of fun for both of us last night and the lawn needed watering too :)
DeleteI have one boy that wants to grow older quickly & the other who says he doesn't want to have another birthday, because "it's too fun being a little boy." :-) Abe is getting so big - I love the pics!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. Which one doesn't want to grow up, the younger or older? I'm guessing your younger son is the one that wants to stay little?
DeleteWhen my youngest was small I would put his swimsuit on him in the evening and he would play as we watered the lawn. Just before time to take him in we would move the sprinkler to the driveway, squirt watered down baby shampoo in his hair and body. and he would "shower" outside. Win/Win!
ReplyDeleteNow you are a genius! I remember my dad once stripping my brothers down to nothing and spray them off with the hose after the three of us had played "willy wonka and the chocolate factory" in a giant mud pit we'd made in the back yard but I don't remember any soap being involved in that incident. You are truly brilliant!
DeleteOk, I was gonna say.....what happened to the last 2 years....I know I'm getting old but....See, he adds on years, I subtract them :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know, me too. Um, honey... he's such a goof. He said it so sincerely too. Like, it was one of the best days o his life now that he'd turned six. Yeah, not even close buddy!
DeleteHe's such a sport-he had me wondering about age.
