Photo on the right is from today.
There's a zucchini plant that we grew from seed in the very front of the photo and another one back by Abe's foot. I squeezed three tomato plants in directly next to the fence. I sort of weave them into the fence and tie them to it with string so that I don't have to cage them. You can't see the tomato plants as well in the newer photo but they are doing good. They are the three little green spots in the first photo.
We haven't had any harvest yet but I'm really happy with how well the plants are doing.
Gardening has definitely become one of the major highlights of summertime for me.
Are you growing carrots too? Your carrots a couple of years ago really inspired me!
ReplyDeleteAbner took a big stick to the bin I grew my carrots in last time. I tried growing them in a different spot and they hardly grew. I didn't end up growing them this year (as I spent almost nothing on this year's garden) but hopefully I'll grow them again next year in a different bin trying to do the same thing I've done when they turned out great.
DeleteI am impressed with your gardening attempts. I did not plant anything this year. Last year all I did was feed squirrels and chipmunks.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of zucchini recipes tagged for future use when I hope to nab some low cost or perhaps gifted ones from gardeners with too many. My girls had a zucchini flower in France last summer and I've wanted to try and recreate.
