Whenever I spend too much money I'm inclined to just not blog about it. When I don't blog about it I end up spending too much money over and over and over again. So, I'm facing the music and putting it down in type. Yesterday I spent $40.10. I bought a bunch of stuff we'd run out of: cat litter, dish soap, laundry detergent(he), milk, flour, sugar, ect; Really I didn't end up buying hardly any food. In fact we didn't even eat dinner yesterday (mostly because my husband didn't want spaghetti and that was the plan and I ended up just not making anything).
In short I spent three days worth yesterday. There's no food in the house. I'm hungry and I'm angry at myself for spending so much money in one day. I'm ready to pay off these credit cards already!
7.30.11 Lovely: We went to the beach yesterday. My husband was a grumpy guss. It was hot and there were too many people there. Laying in the shade under the umbrella with my eyes closed and the beach air blowing past me was the complete opposite to the rest of the experience. It was lovely.
You know you do need to eat and have cleaning products and if you own a cat litter is important. So don't be so hard on yourself. It isn't like you went out and bought a new purse.
ReplyDeleteAgree with the above poster... Since you've been struggling so much lately, maybe it's time to re-evaluate your budget & time frame for reaching your goals?
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog. Inclined to agree with the other two comments. I had a lot of debt to pay off. I'm no expert, but maybe $12 a day just isn't reasonable every day. Don't be too hard on yourself.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you spent without a plan. That's my biggest downfall. I buy a bunch of things that I do need but then forget about the most important things - like food for basic meals! At the same time, I agree with the other comments, the things you bought were all necessities, so you shouldn't feel guilty or bad. Frustrated, yes.
ReplyDeleteThe bigger question should be did you spend any those three days before then? Because if You didn't spend any those days then it is all evened out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everybody above - you're allowed to go over budget every now and then. And it's not like you randomly bought shoes and clothes and got highlights and a pedicure... you bought necessary items. I'm a big advocate of being budget-conscious without feeling guilty! If you need to increase your budget - like $15 or $20 a day, all you need to do is redo the header on your blog and you'll be fine! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog. I really enjoy it! It's very relate-able. Every now and then you can't help but go over budget, so I think you're good!
