Great Quiet Day Here

I'll be going to sleep tonight with a smile on my face because today was just about perfect.

-Went sledding with my guys
-Baked a wonderful loaf of cheese bread
-Cleaned a bit in the yuck basement
-Made a new dinner
-Got a shower in during the little guy's nap
-Pulled off NO SPEND day 6 for the year
-Put together a shopping list for tomorrow and planned out meals for the week

Yep. All of the above leaves me feeling a bit like super woman and very happy.

Average daily spending for 2015: $17.58

I'm by no means an experienced bread maker but this loaf was SUPER tasty (we've already eaten half of it), puts me closer to my quarterly goals, and turned out better than any other bread I've made. Yay!

    1. I've only made bread a few times and I'm always amazed at how wonderfully delicious it is. First time I've made cheese bread... will totally be making it again!

    1. Certainly. I made the recipe from a cook book I have. I will post it for you later.

  3. That bread looks wonderful! Did you make it completely by hand? There's something truly glorious about home made bread!

    1. Thanks :) and completely. I don't have a bread maker or a kitchen mixer. I'm learning that making bread sure does take some patience but it's pretty fun and yummy!

    1. My husband, who is not a big fan of my cooking, had been sleeping all day when he woke up, walked into the kitchen, took a bite from a slice of the bread I had sitting on the counter and he turns and says to me, "Did you make this? It's really good." Yep, that's the proof that it turned out really well. I don't think I've EVER heard him say, "it's really good" about anything I've ever made. (He's really picky... I'm not really a bad cook; you can ask the rest of my family and his family for that matter)

    2. I totally get it- my husband is picky too. He used to be a really picky eater when we first got married, which was unfortunate because I also was not the experienced cook I am today (so it was a double whammy!) Over the years I think I have broken him in to my cooking and, though he can still make me crazy at times, he usually likes what I make now. ;)
