Sunday, and that's about it

I think the winter blahs have finally caught up to me. I usually get them way before now... hm, maybe it's facebook too. I took the month of January off from facebook and had an abnormally upbeat and productive month. Now I'm back to normal life and back to having the winter blahs.

It's REALLY cold outside right now. There's a lot of freshly fallen snow to accompany the bitterly cold temps. BUT the sun is shining brightly and the deep freeze winter wonderland postcard out my window is fabulously picturesque to say the least. I wish it were warm enough to go out and play without our faces freezing off though.

Average daily spending for 2015: $18.21

  1. See....I know people think I'm nuts but I would KILL for that weather - we are in the 70's all week - it is FEBRUARY, that is TOO HOT!!! It is even too hot to wear a sweater ;( I need to move to Alaska!!!

Its confession time....we not only went out for dinner last night (justified it for Valentine's Day) but went to lunch today for my daughter's boyfriend's birthday and are having dinner out with friends tonight. We went from only eating 2 meals out this month to 5 in 2 day!!!

I'm not beating myself up over it, I'm just getting back on that horse and promising you we will NOT eat out the rest of the month!!!! Don't be too disappointed in me, lol

    1. Oh no! That must feel pretty yucky after having done SOO good the first half of the month. But you've still eaten out SOOO, so, so, SOOO much less then you normally would that I'm super proud of your accomplishments. If you can go the rest of the month without eating out then I'd call this month an absolute total win! (even if you maybe eat out once more :) You're still doing great)

I want to live in Alaska too. I don't mind winter generally but I think pretty much all of us get a bit of the blahs when it's too cold for too long. Last winter was absolutely frigged with no end in sight and I got the blahs pretty bad. It's just that trapped feeling that starts to take over.

  2. When your little guy gets older and the taxi service starts, you'll be forced to get out even on the bitter cold days. It helps the winter blahs to get out in the daylight.

  3. I feel so much better - I have to tell you, it really does help to be "accountable" to someone!!! I will say, we have usually eaten out at least twice as much already in a month than we have this month so I think it is a win too! At least the birthday lunch today was budgeted, so maybe we don't even have to count that, lol.

Hubby & I talked today about our vacation.....not sure what is happening. We were hoping to use part of our tax refund but it looks like a refund might not even happen and there are soooo many things we need to do around the house we might just funnel our money there instead of Mount Rushmore :( We also talked about JUST going to Mount Rushmore for a few days and cutting out the 2 Giants games and Chicago....we'll see how things go. We have put off home repairs much too long so the responsible thing would be to make home repairs instead of taking a vacation.....thoughts?

    1. Oh, sad, about the trip. I'm sure you'll do what's best but I hope it all works out really good. You really could save so much money by not eating out as much that even without the tax refund it seems you could pull off a pretty nice trip. I'm rooting for you!
