Today is "we're all coming over to your house for cake" day because "you're not allowed to not throw a party for your kid" apparently.
I honestly don't like hosting, at all. Maybe I would if it was less obligatory every time and... I'll just stop there. I write all of this not to complain as much as to say my house is so nice and clean now! That's the best part of hosting, I think.
So that's my happy note for today. What a lovely clean home I have! <big smile>
(I'll post photos of the cake later. That's of course another happy part.)
That made me laugh. I have to invite people around to make myself clean and tidy. Plan B is to go away for a few days so that I sort things out ready for coming home to a lovely house. So as I am going away for a coupe of days on Monday, tomorrow will be rather busy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away! It seems we're on the same wave length then, a good straightening up in the works :)
DeleteHope the "party" went well & little Abe had a good time, that is all that matters, right :)
ReplyDeleteOK, here are the numbers for February - not very happy with ourselves but it certainly leaves room for improvement next month!!! I was happy with the # of no-spend days but have got to get the eating out under control!!!
No spend days = 12
Eating out = 9 for a grand total of (ARGH) $342 - imagine how many days we could eat on that on vacation!!!!
Next month WILL be better!!!!
It sounds to me like nine times out is considerably better than what it had been; so that's improvement and like you said, leaves room for more improvement in March :) Great job with the no spends too!
DeleteLittle Abe had a great time at the "party" so that was very nice. Ah, glad it's done with!
I married into a family that big family parties were expected. Yes, the stress of throwing was somewhat mitigated by the clean house effect. I hope you enjoyed the cake.
ReplyDeleteThe house is still clean :) and the cake was very yummy.
DeleteAnd truthfully it's always nice to have spent a great deal of time on a cake and then having everyone ooh and ahh over how great it is... makes it pretty worth it all.
My husband's family and mine are practically opposites so I do have a difficult time dealing with the obligatory aspects to his side. We've been together a long time but we've only had a child for just about 3 years now. This "throwing parties" thing is very new to me.
