Oh, Thank-you Flu!

Thank-you flu for making my house feeling like a festering cesspool with garbage piles on the side that I've no energy to dispose of.
Thank-you flu for making my head foggy so that I can't think straight for going on a whole week now.
Thank-you flu for encouraging me to spend with abandon and forget all my goals and plans.
Thank-you flu for dashing the tail end of March on the rocks.
Oh, thank-you!

The end.

This is where I'd post my numbers but that would mean adding up the spending I've done the past four days. It hasn't been a crazy lot of spending but it has all been unplanned, last minute grabbing this or that, stopping at McDonald's in the morning for coffee in a daze type of spending; the exact sort of spending I despise but somehow have to tally up now. Oh joy!

I'm going to make blueberry crisp first. There are an intense amount of antioxidants in blueberries so I'm figuring that blueberry crisp might be the perfect sort of knock the flu out with one last kick in the rear type food.

    1. The first four days were the worst of it but now, a week later I'm still really really tired and weak and I feel like my head is in a fog. We're (Little Abe and I) definitely getting better (my husband seems to have JUST caught it, sadly) but it's taking awhile for this junk to really clear out.

    1. Starting over NOW! Thank-you for the musical encouragement :)
Would you believe I've never seen that movie? But we do watch The Lion King EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Since Disney on Ice little Abe is obsessed with The Lion King.

  3. You have NEVER seen Frozen??? My 29 year old daughter who is the LEAST girlie-girl you could imagine LOVED it and made me watch it. You will LOVE it & Abe will love Sven :)

My son's EVER.SINGLE.DAY. movie was Peter Pan - we borrowed it so much from a friend she told us to keep it :) My daughter's was The Little Mermaid. Ahhh, memories!!!! Now I just need some grandkids to watch them with!!!

    1. Never. I want to see it I just haven't ever gotten around to it. I think it must put me into a minority.

I remember watching the little mermaid and beauty and the beast every single day as a kid, memorizing every song and singing along word for word. My brother's and I also watched The Newsies ALOT over and over and over. That was one we rented. We probably ruined the store's copy watching it so much.

You will have so much fun watching movies with grandkids :)
For the record I didn't have my little guy until I was 32 (even though I'm the oldest and my parents already had 5 grandkids at that point). Don't give up on your kids! Grandkids are in your future :)

  4. I hope so (fingers crossed) although I think I may have more luck from the 20 year old than the 29 year old who has been in a relationship for 6 years!!!

The first Disney movie I remember seeing in the theatre which holds a special place for me is the Aristocats :)

Volunteering in a first grade classroom forces me to keep up with the newer movies too - they want to talk about them and if I want to understand a word they are saying I have to watch them :) I watched the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie (yikes) that all the boys LOVED and now I need to see Big Hero 6 - another popular one :)

    1. Hubby and I were married 10 before kiddo!

I love that you watch the kids movies to keep up with the littles in the class you volunteer in. That is so neat! I can't believe you watched that ninja turtle movie though LOL that looks bad. I did see Big Hero 6, my husband rented it for Abner since he kept laughing at the previews. It was pretty cute.

  5. Oh yes. Flu is the scorn of productivity and this year it seems to linger extra. Take care and know yout resolve will be stronger once you are.

    1. No joke on the lingering! What an annoyance. Even though it hit us I'm very thankful that my family has great immune systems!
