We Have Babies

That title is considerably less exciting than it sounds.

BABY TOMATOES!
Aren't they darling?

I picked some basil today from our backyard and put it on my grilled cheese sandwich. I felt like a real chef... it was really good! My husband passed on the idea for his sandwiches but I made him taste mine. His exact words, "I see how someone could think that tastes good." He's such a dork.

  1. LOL - my husband is the same way. He balks at some things, but then ends up loving it.

I would be so excited for those babies! Lots of lots of them!

  2. I have basil coming out of my ears! I need to figure out what to do with all of it. I've already made 10 batches of pesto, so that's out. ;-) We have it with pretty much every meal.

    Cute tomato blossoms!

    1. I've never grown anything but I picked up a little basil plant at the farmers market after I'd put the strawberries and tomatoes in. It's doing so well but I've never had fresh basil around so this is so new to me. Wow, 10 batches of pesto :) sounds yummy but good luck finding uses for all the rest!

  3. I have baby tomatoes too! This is my first time ever growing tomatoes and I flipped out when I saw the first two itty bitty tomatoes on the vine.

    1. Yay! My first time too. Someone had asked if there were flowers on my plants yet and I said no. That night when little Abe and I checked them there they were. SOOO exciting!

  5. "I see how someone could think that tastes good." :)))) funny.
    So happy for your tomatoes!
Lena, try spraying the basil with soapy water? Or my "efficient" method, hold a bar of soap in front of the plant and squirt regular water from one of those spray bottles at the soap so that some of it lands on the plant. No messy soap water bottle that you'd never use again anyway.
