No Spend Day

Today was NO SPEND day 18 for the year. My goal was to be at 31 no spends by now so I'm pretty far behind. But here's another for the books anyhow.

That's all I've got for today. I'm experiencing the winter blues really badly now. I almost feel ill, but it's really a cooped up too long, been cold for too long, tiredness that I'm just not able to shake. There's at least 3 feet of snow in my yard, still! The mounds at the road from plows going by are closer to 5 feet. The snow is all covered with ice from the ice rain we had yesterday. The wind chill today was horrid. I am now dreaming of digging in dirt, of getting dirt under my nails, and in my fingerprints, and in my hair and behind my ears (you know, from when you're pulling up a particularly stubborn weed and when the roots finally give, little bits of dirt fling all over you). These winter blues are just getting heavier and heavier as the cold lingers. I really don't wish to be such a downer here folks I'm just at my wits end. Spring! Please come soon! Please!

sigh.

Average daily spending for 2015: $18.22
$327.78 left to spend in March

  1. You are more than welcome to come here to Northern California for a visit - we are supposed to be 75 this weekend which, as you know, does NOT make me happy, but you would love it :) So what do you say.......come out for a visit :) Hang in there!!!!

Spent money today but really happy about it - found a woman selling 2 raised garden beds made out of redwood filled with organic dirt for $60 - it would cost us that alone for the dirt so I'm very happy! We go pick them up tomorrow -- yay!!

    1. Oh YEAH: that sounds like a great find!
I can't tell you how badly I want to get in the car and just drive, drive, drive to someplace warmer! I think Northern California might be a bit too far away though :)

  2. Perhaps you and your son need to create some flowers (craft or picture) to plaster around your house for when Spring actually arrives. I guess the good news is it is on its way - I promise!

    1. That is a splendid idea. It won't get any warm sun on my skin but it would be cheery and springy. I think we may just go for it.

    1. You should see it here. The lake is frozen farther out than you can see and there is so much snow... it's pretty, don't get me wrong but it doesn't look the least bit like spring is anywhere near here or ever will be. And it's so cold :(

      Okay, tomatoes!
      :)
