Too Much Noise

Average daily spending for the year so far: $13.14

I'm still struggling with time management. Life is exhausting. But I'm looking at my average daily spending for the year so far and I'm not too disappointed. It's not $12 a day but it's not bad.

The thing I've struggled most with this month is having too much on my mind; too much noise. I'm contemplating cutting out noise in March. Not committing but contemplating. I don't see my husband that much and I'm not a huge fan of TV but I've had the television on a lot over the past year just for noise, just for company. It's mind numbing and I think I like that but it's the opposite of productive. I know that I function better when it's off. Less talk radio, less TV, less computer time equals more clarity and focus for doing those things that need to be done; things that matter.
The quieter you become the more you can hear.

  1. I need to cut the noise too! Some days I wind up at my computer all day watching a marathon of streaming shows and not getting a whole lot done!

  2. I like to put on insturmental piano music. This way I have sound, but it is subtle and doesn't require my attention like a show. I put it on repeat in the morning so it is always playing when I come home. I feel like it calms me when I have a lot going on.

  3. That's an interesting idea. I don't like to have music on whilst I work. My brain gets distracted by the voices, or even just the melody of an intrumental piece.

Will you get lonely if you don't have background noise though?

  4. I too need to cut the "noise". The verse "Be still and know that I am God" needs to become the most important thing in my life.

  6. Doll, you're distracted and sound deflated somewhat. You've been working really hard trying to get things back on track. At the risk of preaching, maybe a good nite out wit your girlfriends is wat u need. Break the monotony. Life is very noisy but have some 'me' time to quieten things down a bit. You're still brilliantly well. Don't get disheartened. Maybe turn the tv up and dance ur heart out :-D Ireland
