I'm not sure how I'm going to go Thanksgiving shopping and stay on budget but it's already the 21st of November and my average daily spending is still under $12 a day. I've even purchased dog food and cat food this month. We've eaten out once (now that is an accomplishment). I bought food while I was working 2 times. I have SEVEN more NO SPEND days to go in order to meet my 18 days challenge. However 11 no spends out of 21 days for me is pretty great.
I can honestly say that this $11 a day challenge has been rather fun. Hmm, I'm not sure that "fun" is the appropriate word. This last week is going to be interesting. I'm really antsy to see how I pull it off. I better get to grocery planning and miracle making. Can you purchase a turkey on $11 a day... we shall see.
Average daily spending for November: $11.53
Number of days in a row
Not buying food at work: 9
Not making large unnecessary purchases or luxury purchases: 9
Since we last ate out: 12
And I'm at 11 out of 18 NO SPEND days so far this month
It is very difficult to stick with a budget during the holidays as everything costs more - food, gas, etc. Although, giving up trying is not good either. Do want you can and still enjoy the holidays. If you go over, it will be a good way to know what to plan for.
ReplyDeleteI believe grocery planning is a bit of miracle making :) Especially if you're working around what you've already got at home.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are doing great on not eating out!! Congrats and Happy Thanksgiving.
