I Feel Like a Super Hero

Because I have tomatoes growing in my backyard;
Because I haven't purchased one single diaper for all of 2014 (my son is 29 months old);
Because I grind up all of our food scraps (fruit and veggie) and throw them into the "compost" pile;
Because even though 2014 seems to be flying by, little Abe and I have had some pretty great adventures so far this year;
Because I'm not a champ with money but I try really, really hard to be fiscally responsible;
And because I made lemon meringue pie! (I didn't make it again. I'm still talking about that same pie.)

Yep. I'm a super hero.

You?

  1. You are most definitely a super hero! I feel like a super hero because I work full-time, have two kids, & still (try) to (mostly) find time to take care of myself. I also spend my free time in the kitchen, because I love it!

    1. You're totally a superhero too! I very much commend you for finding time to take care of yourself because it's such a VERY important thing to do and so easy to neglect (still trying to figure that one out myself and I don't work full time, ugh). You're awesome!

  2. I love homegrown tomatoes. We've only picked cherry tomatoes so far. We have plenty of others but they aren't ripe yet. I really just love gardening.

    1. I've never actually gardened before so I'm abnormally (like unbelievably) excited to pick our first ripe tomato. We have a few that are getting close, maybe. Ahhhh, it's so awesome!

    1. haha, He's been potty trained since last November/ December and I've put him in a cloth diaper at night since then. It's a little thing really but I feel SOOOO proud of myself for A.) getting the little dude potty trained at 20 months and B.) Finally going all in with the cloth diapering (even if it was at the last leg of the race). Just being able to say I haven't purchased one diaper this entire year makes me feel fabulous!

  5. Let's be superhero's together! Like you I'm no moneysaving champ but I do try and be in control of my finances rather than the other way around. And I think my first tomato will be ripe this week. And I've got a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen as a loaf bales. Yes, let's me superheros together!
