Debt Quote Tuesday BHAG

I heard a funny acronym for the first time today. BHAG (pronounced like be hag): A big hairy audacious goal. I love the idea of filling 2014 with BHAG's and I also like the acronym. It makes me giggle a little.
The point is not to find the “right” BHAGs but to create BHAGs so clear, compelling, and imaginative that they fuel progress.

I'd planned to get groceries tomorrow but I figured that the stores would be a bit less busy today (with Thanksgiving being on Thursday). I wrote a list, buckled down and got to it. I was determined to stay within a $35 range. I spent way longer shopping than I would have liked but I accomplished my mission. First I put the tin foil back and then 2 yogurt cups. After that I decided that I could hold out a little bit longer with the laundry detergent we have at home so I crossed that off my list and set it back on the shelf. This will just take some strategic laundering... making sure the essentials get washed together in two or three loads. I contemplated getting more coffee grounds but nope, those too would have put me over. My total was $30.32.

I think I can safely say that today's little HAG was spending $35 on groceries. Whoohoo, HAG in the bag!!! How can you not giggle at that. I love it.

Average daily spending for November: $11.70
(counting the next 3 days as NO SPENDs in the above average)

Number of days in a row
Not buying food at work: 14
Not making large unnecessary purchases or luxury purchases: 14
Since we last ate out: 4
And I'm at 14 out of 18 NO SPEND days so far this month
